Unpublished Africa, a platform dedicated to empowering African visual storytellers, is proud to announce the second edition of Unpublished Africa Photography Week. Running from 23–30 November 2024, the event will take place under the theme “Impact in Mind”, highlighting how photography and visual storytelling in Africa can amplify voices, address urgent social issues, and inspire meaningful action.

Photography as a Tool for Social Impact

The “Impact in Mind” theme challenges African photographers and visual storytellers to think beyond aesthetics, using their creative practice as a tool for:

  • Amplifying marginalized voices

  • Addressing pressing social issues such as climate change, inequality, and cultural heritage preservation

  • Inspiring civic action and community engagement

By exploring the intersection of art and activism, Photography Week creates space for a new generation of African creatives who see photography as both craft and catalyst.
